Barbados Fertility Centre is a JCI accredited fertility centre located in Barbados. The centre was founded in 2002 and treats patients from around the world, particularly from the Caribbean, UK, USA, Canada and Europe. The IVF cycle at Barbados Fertility Centre divided into steps: follicle stimulation, timing ovulation, egg collection, semen sample, fertilization procedure, pregnancy test results. The typical treatment cycles are the Frozen Embryo Cycle, Natural Cycle, and Clomiphene Citrate Cycleand Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Cycle.
The various tests carried out are pre-cycle testing including blood tests for rubella, hormone levels, HIV, hepatitis B and C, baseline ultrasound scans for women and semen analysis for men.

For CARICOM patients initial consultation costs $125.00 and a review costs $100.00. Seminal analysis and ultrasound scan each costs $75.00, SIS and review is for $250.00, HyCoSy costs $500.00, separate blood tests cost $104 and $94.00. IVF and ICSI, each including embryo freezing for 1 year, cost $5,500.00 and $6,500.00 respectively. Embryo storage costs $400 for every additional year. Embryo thawing and transfer (including assisted hatching) costs $1,000.00, assisted hatching costs $250.00. Refunds for failed IVF and ICSI are $3,750.00 and $4,750.00 respectively. Refund (if no ET) is $750.00. Blastocyst fee is $250.00. IVF and ICSI with known donor eggs cost $6,500.00 and 7,500.00 respectively, each including embryo freezing for 1 year. IVF and ICSI with anonymous donor eggs cost $7,000.00 and $ 8,000.00 respectively, each including embryo freezing for 1 year. Artificial insemination I.U.I. (husband/partner – per cycle, including scans) costs $375.00 and I.U.I. (donor sperm – per cycle, including scans) costs $500.00. Sperm mucus interaction test and Testicular Biopsy Sperm Extraction (TESE) cost $75.00 and $500.00 respectively.

These charges include in-cycle blood tests, ultrasounds, theatre charges, anaesthetic charges, doctors’ fees and one day in recovery (4 hours) and are subject to change. Medication, pre-cycle tests and counselors fees are separate. Payments can be done through bank drafts, wire transfer, cash, Visa/MasterCard.
One can send reports from one's personal doctors to Barbados Fertility Centre and then have a telephone consultation with one of the clinicians. A consultation report with a recommended treatment plan is then sent to you. You can follow this by phone consultation with your clinician or make a booking. The nurse coordinator conducts this procedure. Barbados Fertility Centre has a highly specialized team of doctors, nurses and embryologists, counselors are experienced and registered psychologists. The website separately mentions the possible risks of infertility treatment and the fertility specialist shall discuss these as well.
Comfort, Luxury, Premium or Elite holiday packages are offered to international patients. At the least these include lodging for 14 days in a hotel, return airfare to New York, Miami or London, transport to airport and Barbados Fertility Centre for medical appointments and mobile phone for communication with clinical staff. The patient liaison manager is responsible for the stay of international patients.
Comfort package costs $5,000.00 and $5,500.00, luxury package costs $6,500.00 and $7,000.00, premium package costs $10,000.00 and $12,000.00 and elite package costs $30,000.00 and $34,000.00, in summers and winters respectively. Summers would mean May 01 – Dec 15 and winters would mean Dec 16 – April 30. Luxury package hotels include Bougainvillea Hotel and Accra Hotel, premium package hotels include Colony Club, Tamarind Cove, The House Barbados, The Barbados Hilton and elite package hotel is the Sandy Lane Hotel. For CARICOM patients special rates with nearby hotels are arranged.

The website mentions its success rates to be published by the Centre of Disease Control (CDC) in the USA and by the Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority (HFEA) in the UK. The success rate for IVF and ICSI treatment was 54% in 2005 for couples under 37 and 39% for couples between 38 and 41. Blastocyst ET success in first cycle in 2005 was 74% and 61% for all cycles. FET success rate for all cycles was 17% in 2005. IUI success rate in 2005 was 10% for all cycles.
